If you can’t get out fishing, then reading about it is the next best thing. I have
been a mad keen lure angler for a good few years now and like everybody else of a
certain age, I started out chucking spinners and plugs with a carp rod and big heavy
fixed spool reel. Line was 12 lbs mono, thick as rope and barely any more flexible.
Times have changed, so join me on the new path of strong but fine tackle and subtle,
more refined tactics than I could once have ever dreamed of. Pike are here, but expect
to find them mentioned rarely because my quarry of choice are zander, perch and chub
in that order.
