I hope that you find my journal interesting and entertaining. If, having read this, you think that I am talking rubbish then at least you have stopped and thought about it long enough to come to that conclusion which is something of a result in my book. If you would like to comment on this article or anything else relating to my website, please feel free to contact me using the adjacent form. Feedback is always greatly appreciated and very helpful when it comes to improving both my site and my angling. Thank you for looking. If this form will not work for you, please e-mail me at editor@ericweight.co.uk

I have been running this online diary for a good few years now. In that time, I have gone from casting and retrieving crankbaits, jerkbaiting and general spinning where the target species were more often jack pike than anything else, to ultralight fishing with a pole for perch. Catches have gone up dramatically as I have gained a better understanding of fish, why I fish the way that I do, and as a direct result of fishing with Pete, who's approach to fishing has mirrored my own.
Many readers of this journal have been kind enough to say that it has helped them as well, so it is with a strong tinge of sadness, that I have decided to close it down. There are several fishing related reasons for this decision that I don't want to go into here, but I have to admit, that above all, it is becoming so very difficult to find anything worthwhile to say that I haven't already said. Eventually, what started out as an enjoyable embellishment to every trip out has, to be honest, become more of a time-consuming chore, and instead of the enjoyment of the fishing being the focus of the day, getting something to put onto the website has. Lure fishing has to be fun in its own right, not something that you do to generate a story, and it is too easy to put your friends second if you get carried away by your own importance. If I have to leave you with one insight into the art of lure fishing, it is this: Lure fishing is easy, if you put the lure in front of feeding fish and keep it there long enough for them to find and take it. Remember that and you will rarely struggle.

So that's it I guess. I will be taking it offline in the next couple of weeks, so if anybody thinks that I may be able to help with any questions or problems that they have regarding lure fishing, jot this e-mail address down, and feel free to use it whenever you want to. ericweight@btinternet.com
Thanks for your kindness and your interest, take care and have fun.
Eric.
