Spectacular colours and some of the most atmospheric light of the year are what autumn mean to the nature photographer.

The deer are rutting and the bracken is turning every shade of brown and gold, the woods are ablaze in a riot of red and yellow.

Some of our wildlife is starting to tuck a bit away for the winter months ahead and everything is feasting on the annual crop of berries and fruit.

As autumn draws to a close, the days get very short and time is of the essence for us all; ‘there is not a moment to lose.’
