Summer can be a surprisingly difficult season for the wildlife photographer.

Although there are a lot of hungry mouths to feed, there is an abundance of natural food available.

Consequently feeding stations designed to bring our subjects in close are not only less attractive but we have to be careful what we are feeding as well.

Thick leaf cover intrudes into nearly every shot and while we finally have the light that we have been begging for all winter, it has become harsh and difficult.

Like the farmer, the nature photographer is always unhappy with the weather.
